I have just ordered and received my RTL-SDR V4c and have started installing the necessary software.
However, when I follow the quick start guide here on the blog, I’m having trouble with step number 10.
When I follow the instructions, no device appears that matches what the guide says it should.
What should I do?
Do you hear a connection ding when it gets plugged in?
First thing to try is another USB port. Some USB ports don’t provide enough power.
Second thing, is specific to the USB-C model. A lot of USB-C cables are charge only - they don’t provide any sort of data connection. Others are charge + data, but have very poor quality data wires. Please check what type of cable you have, and try another.
Third, if you didn’t already, try unchecking “Ignore Hubs or Composite Parents”.
If it still doesn’t show up after all those steps, please contact us at admin@rtl-sdr.com with your order details, as it could be faulty.
