READ FIRST Before Asking a Troubleshooting Question

Please read this first before asking a troubleshooting question.

First, please ensure that you have carefully gone through our quickstart guide at www.rtl-sdr.com/QSG and the troubleshooting section just below it.

If you have a V3, please read the V3 features guide if your questions relate to the bias tee or HF modes www.rtl-sdr.com/V3.

If you have a V4, please also consult the V4 users guide at RTL-SDR Blog V4 Users Guide. Please remember that the V4 needs to be running the latest drivers, otherwise there will be no reception! Going through the quickstart guide and V4 users guide will set you up with the latest drivers.

If you continue to have problems, please post in the forum.

Things to include in your question that will help:

  1. A clear description of what you are trying to achieve.
  2. The EXACT error message that you receive.
  3. A screenshot of the error message and anything related. e.g. a screenshot of the SDR# settings, of zadig etc can be very helpful.
  4. Steps you have already tried to resolve the problem.

Please do not just say “the dongle doesn’t work” without providing more information!

Also, please remember that for questions relating to specific software, you will probably get the best help by asking in discussion groups specifically for that software, or by emailing the authors of those programs directly.
