Rtl_433 doesn't show any data

I just got the rtl-sdr blog v4. I am running on a Raspberry Pi 5 with trixie.

I have installed the v4 drivers, using the “Alternative Debian Package Installation Method”.

I have built rtl_433 from merbanan/rtl_433 master.

cubicsdr seems to think that there’s activity at 433mhz

rtl_433 reports:

rtl_433 version 25.12-8-g8d92cdd6 branch master at 202601061318 inputs file rtl_tcp RTL-SDR
Reading conf from “rtl_433.conf”.

New defaults active, use “-Y classic -s 250k” if you need the old defaults

but never finds anything.

My old NooElec R820T SDR & DVB-T NESDR Mini sees packets at 433 Mhz

(It doesn’t see anything at 915mhz, which is why I bought the blog v4. It used to…)

Anyway, am I missing something?

I’m using the short 60mm antennas on the dipole holder that came in the bundle (Amazon.com: RTL-SDR Blog V4 R828D RTL2832U 1PPM TCXO HF Bias Tee SMA Software Defined Radio with Dipole Antenna Kit : Electronics).

Drivers appear to be successfully installed.

Does the V4 see activity at 433 MHz? In the terminal paste provided you are tuned to 915 MHz.

Are you sure the signal you’re after is exactly at 915 MHz? This band stretches from 902 to 928, so you might be missing the exact frequency of the active signal.

I did not see anything at 433. I waited to answer until I got a muzi 915 mhz whip to give it a fair shot. It still does not see anything at 915mhz, while I see strong and frequent decodes with the older one. I guess I’ll be sending it back. :frowning:
