For VHF/UHF bands (not HF) what is the better choice ? SDR Blog v3 or v4?

Hallo, I decided to buy a SDR device for VHF/UHF DMR signals reception only. But looking on the WEB I found different opinions about SDR Blog v.3 and v4. I do not think that D828D chip is the best choice for VHF/UHF, but for HF band. I shall appreciate the best sensitivity. What is your advice ?

Finally I bought a RTL SDR Blog v.4. I think that the driver is the same of the NOOELEC SMart V.5. So, using SDR## application, it should be like a “Plug&Play” operation.

You can see the measured sensitivity graphs at RTL-SDR Blog V4 Dongle Initial Release!

Basically the V3 has better sensitivity at VHF/UIHF, but the V4 will have better selectivity due to the filtering.

As long as you’re using the latest version of SDR#, it will download the latest drivers that are compatible with the V4 when you go through the quickstart guide procedure.

Hallo Carl, thank you for your answer.
Currently I’m using a NOOELEC Smart V5 (driver downloaded using ZADIG) device.
The software on the PC (Windows 11) is the latest version of SDRSharp.
I bought a few days ago a RTL-SDR Blogv4 from Aliexpress. It will be delivered next week.
My question is if I should forced to follow the quickstart guide procedure for the new RTL-SDR, or simply I could exchange the devices on the USB port of the same PC. My final purpose is to check either the devices (alternately) using the same PC, and the same antenna.

It depends on how recently you did the installation for programs like SDR#. If you installed recently you would have the most up to date drivers already. If not, then you’d want to do the QSG from te beginning.
