Trinity: The ultimate handheld wide band receiver, ever!

I’d wanted to build this for a long time but could never quite commit to it. Turns out if you just start, it works itself out.

The name Trinity comes from three pieces of software working together:

  • Live!Wave for SDR:
A newly built frontend. ttt (turns frequencies on static web pages into tappable buttons), X-Trigger (direct transfer of frequencies shared on X, e.g. from airshows), and direct frequency entry via a numeric keypad.
  • 9GRadio + Mod:
A cutting-edge SDR app that showed up in August 2026. Supports background playback. It had no remote control via rigctl, so I built that part myself — Trinity-Switch too.
  • Chrome:
Android’s own stock browser, as you’d expect. Injects JavaScript into pages to make Trinity-Switch, ttt, and X-Trigger possible.

Bonus: works with pretty much any rig that can be controlled via rigctl.
